Counseling:Body-Oriented
The USABP, or United States Association for Body Psychotherapy, is a nonprofit membership association dedicated to developing and advancing the art, science and practice of body psychotherapy.  Here is what they have to say about What to Expect, what happens in a body psychotherapy session.
    • In depth work with and exploration of life issues; body, psyche and soul
    • Combining hands-on energy work with counseling
    • Specializing in emotional wounds occurring before you could talk

In Elaine Aron's research on sensitivity, she found that highly sensitive people (HSP's) who had a more difficult childhood were more likely to be shy, anxious or depressed than a matched group of non-HSP's.  Those HSP's who had a good childhood experience, were not more likely to be shy, anxious or depressed than a non HSP.

So you see, an HSP with a difficult childhood will often need some support to sort out and work through these issues arising from their early relationships.  I have walked this path myself and have discovered many resources along my healing journey which I can offer to help you on yours.

At the core of any in depth work is relationship.  The relationship, resonance and connection of two people is impossible to assess without actually connecting, so call or e-mail to set up a free 30 minute introduction.
